The photos include 2 showing Lt. Koenig in the water just after launch from the USS Shangri-La.  The engine quit on his F4U and he was fortunate to get out alive.

A fortunate escape

Here's a group of photos from the Casa Grande, Arizona crop dusting business... this flying is not for the faint of heart!  Virgil told me the attrition was 125%... all 4 planes crashed once and one of them twice! The photos include him, his dusting planes and airfield.  After a while he became a Piper salesman too. audemars piguet replica watches
